Complexity has to be managed by a coherent structure
Challenge 1: What's in the project concerning resoursces?
460 man month of research and development work compressed into a pan European and a time span of 30 months! That's more than 38 years or in other words: more than one researcher's life. Concerning financial resources more than 4,2 Mio. Euros are going into the project.
Challenge 2: Diversity and interdisciplinarity
Seven partners from six European countries

- Switzerland
- Germany
- Ireland
- The United Kingdom
- Italy
are managing these resources integrating the following disciplines into the project
- game design and rich media production,
- game development,
- digital storytelling,
- e-learning technology,
- cognitive science, learning psychology, and experimenting/evaluation,
- software evaluation, HCI, and usability,
- content provider in the field of geographical data
The main organisational answer to meeting this amount of resources and the multi dimensional complexity is a strict deviation of labour by the implementation of "work packages" with clear work descriptions, responsibilities and interfaces between each other.
