The STEG workshop set story-telling and educational games including story and game design paradigms, Web 2.0 based story-telling and gaming scenarios, advanced story-telling and educational gaming technologies and platforms for technology enhanced learning in the focus. The workshop was held in conjunction with the 3rd European Conference on Technology Enhanced Learning (EC-TEL08), Maastricht, The Netherlands.
Michael Kickmeier-Rust (University of Graz) and Stefan Göbel (ZGDV) both provided the interested audience with 80Days’ leading edge approach to educational computer games. While Michael focused on the hot topic of ‘personalization’ and ‘adaptation’, Stefan gave an overview of open, interactive storytelling in the context of educational games.
