80days booth at the Montreal International Game Summit 08 (MIGS08)
takomat presents 80days' Character engine within the MIGS 2008 in Montreal, Canada.
Montreal, Canada – November 17, 2008: takomat presents its new real-time Character-Animation Technology phenomeTM within the MIGS (Montreal International Game Summit 2008 - http://www.sijm.ca/2008/en). Come and see us on November 18/19 at our booth Nr. 330 in Palais des congrès Montreal.
For the first time phenomeTM animates in real-time and semiautomatic a psychological and physical convincing behaviour for virtual characters in virtual worlds, that has required a manual animation so far. So the previous contrast in the production of videogames, either time and money consuming or to produce with cogent characters, is suspended.
phenomeTM is currently in application within the European research project „80 days“(www.eightydays.eu) and here it guarantees a convincing account of „virtual teachers“ inside a virtual world.
The previous takomat research in the area of „serious games“ (www.elektra-project.org) has shown that youngsters are able to learn well than with traditional teaching aids, when the virtual characters in a virtual learning environment behave emotional and authentic.
Therefore takomat applies phenomeTM for the operation of characters in learning games.
